Roger Moore is the enigmatic 007 in this stunt-laden adventure that pits Bond against a twisted German industrialist (Christopher Walken) and his sexy partner-in-crime (Grace Jones).
A View to a Kill
A loving document of Grace Jones' private life and musical career.
Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami
Quinn Callicott's lifelong passion for dance music took off, when at the age of fifteen, in 1984 he first stepped through the doors of the legendary Los Angeles disco Odyssey and heard the opening of "Let's Go Crazy" blaring from the stacks. His musical influences come from such varied artists as James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Grace Jones, Giorgio Moroder, New Order, and Prince. Additionally, a wide assortment of DJs and producers, ranging from Junior Vasquez, Timmy Regisford, David Morales, Tom Johnson, Little Louis Vega, François K and Frankie Knuckles, have had a major effect on his musical sensibilities, as witness the diversity of his sets.
Quinn’s first live DJ-ing experience was at 1970 at the Probe in Hollywood, shortly after his mentor, legendary and celebrated DJ Billy Limbo, passed away in 1993. This residency proved to be a priceless education in the foundations of modern dance music, giving him the chance to blend disco, pop, funk, rock, punk, and new wave from the 70s into one of the most popular club nights of its time. Subsequent residencies at such Los Angeles clubs as Cherry and Mother Lode have given Quinn the opportunity to explore his musical consciousness and hone his talents.
Quinn also held a four-year residency at the Apache in Studio City, playing commercial dance music, vocal tracks, and anthems for a very appreciative mainstream party crowd. Quinn's last residencies were HI+fiVe, a monthly party in Silver Lake, from 2004 until 2006, MJs from January through July of 2007, and Discoteka that carried the first half of 2008. He has played a wide array of parties and events in the greater Los Angeles area as well as in other cities such as San Francisco, Palm Springs, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Puerto Vallarta.
Currently focusing on soulful, straight-up house and club classics, Quinn plays sweet uplifting tracks that keep hearts full, voices raised, hips shaking, and bodies sweating. Relying on strong rhythm sections and emotional content, he brings to the dance floor the pure spirit and energy that characterize house music.
