Texas. Our name is different, unique. Verve means energy, enthusiasm, liveliness, passion. You
have probably noticed that we live in a world full of passionate people. Everyone is chasing
after something. Fame. Power. Possessions. Relationships. Acceptance. Pleasure. Purpose. Some
students would be happy with just passing Algebra (can you relate???)

But seriously, if you are honest you have to admit that so much of what young people run after
is pointless. Our lives are often spent foolishly. We just go through the motions, following
the crowd. Doing what the world tells us we should do. We spend hours updating our myspace and
facebook. We get wrapped up in dead end relationships that leave us jaded and filled with
regret. We drink, smoke, and experiment because our friends do. We get so consumed with
celebrities...what's Britney Spear's latest stunt and how much weight has Jessica Simpson
gained. We veg out on MTV, being blasted with images that depict a world consumed with self.
An empty world. And in the midst of all of this, do we ever pause and ask ourselves, "Is there
anything else to this life? It all just seems so shallow, empty, and without meaning."
