Skull of the Robot is a podcast of a punk rock romantic novel by Peter Gelman. Read by Scott Hirschberg in the mid 1990s. Recently found, the historic tapes have been converted to MP3 for this podcast. This novel takes place in Minneapolis in the 1980s. It has a youthful, intense, poetic-industrial style, a vigorous, maximalist word ethic in defiance of that literary age of ennui-celebrating minimalism. Given the perspective of youth at the end of the Cold War, this novel considers the question Can we change our own nature? through troubled love affairs, complex friendships, tumbling thoughts and word ferment. Presented with original music by Peter Gelman. (Please start with installment 1.) Due to language and situations, this novel is not appropriate for minors.
