Looking for a different Macintosh and iPod podcast that won’t talk over your head? Tim Robertson is the publisher of MyMac.com, writing and talking about Macs since 1995. Guy Serle, David Cohen, Mark Rudd, and others also contribute to the show weekly. We interview both the well-know, such as Apple CEO Gil Amelio and Microsoft, and interesting Mac people you may never have heard of. We hold many contests, giving away items such as Adobe CS4, Microsoft Office 2008, iPod gear, iPhone gear, and a ton more. We accept voice feedback at feedback@mymac.com so you can be a part of the show. This podcast started in December 2004, and continues to grow each month. Join us! Updated weekly.

Know Tech is very unshow. the show, if you want to call it that, used to start with “we now join a conversation already in progress.” that was when it was MacBreak Tech. MBT was an experiment to see what worked when talking about heavy subjects. but we moved on and grew up. some things just didn’t work at all. like dropping advertising bombs in the middle of the conversation.
it seems like the Tech part of our old shows name limited our audience. it was almost as if that word was code for “going to be boring.” We’ve shed ourselves of two words. this show, which will still be very unshow like, has a much friendlier 2 word name. nothing more. simple. Know Tech is the next phase.
Know Tech is about tech that is interesting to us. we all use Macs so you'll hear about that. but you're more likely to hear things about 3D, Windows, Arduino, routers, networking and cameras. it's about what we are using, learning, breaking and fixing.
you’ll hear some of the same people like Kenji, Ben Kristin and Craig. and some new names like Tom, Chris and maybe Kanen (formally known as the other John).
Know Tech
Computer Audiophile is for people looking to take the next step in their high quality music listening experience and to discuss everything audiophile related in the forums. The main focus is on Hi-Fi audio equipment that produces audiophile quality sound from a computer / music server. Previously using a computer in an audiophile grade system was unheard of. Now, Macs and PCs are quickly supplementing standalone transports, CD players and large collections of physical media. In the near future purchasing physical media, other than vinyl and reel-to-reel tape, will be a thing of the past and computer based systems will be replacing instead of supplementing the physical media based components. Many audiophiles see this as the end of high quality music reproduction. Fortunately the opposite is true.
CA Podcast (mp3)
A podcast for educators who use Macs and the rest who wish they did.
The Educational Mac
The Learning Mac podcast explores the diverse and exciting ways Macs are used in schools, colleges and other learning contexts to enhance and deliver a creative curriculum designed to meet the needs of modern education systems. Mark and Ian cover Apple hardware, software and the iPod Touch as teaching and learning tools, along with other related issues such as Web 2 apps, 3rd party software, social networking and running Windows on a Mac. Wider issues around technology and learning, productivity v creativity and the long-standing Mac v Windows debate are regular visitors to the dialogue.

Macs In Life
Computer gaming has always held a special place in my heart, especially since the advent of the MMO. Computers have always given me the best of both worlds; the ability to be productive and have fun. I was a Microsoft fanboy for many years, but spending time tweaking my PC had become tiresome over the years, especially with less free time available to me. I even once lost a PC due to overclocking, and almost set my house on fire!
Over the last two years, Apple had lured me in. Their design was clean, their OS was less congested, and their hardware had significantly improved. I took the plunge and made a shopping reservation one on one with an Apple store employee, and had my questions answered.
There's not much I can't do on my 27" iMac, and I thoroughly enjoy using it every day. I since then bought a Macbook pro, 2 iPads and 2 iPhones.
They were right. For the most part, it all just works.
So where is it lacking? Games...
And you know what? That gap is closing as well. It seems like more and more, as Macs gain more market share, game companies are creating Mac versions of their games.
And as they do, you'll here about it here. The MGM podcast will be a monthly event discussing great new games for the Mac. I'm not talking about Crossword Junkie 2.0 with Snow Leopard support. We're talking FPS's, RTS's, and MMOs. We'll even throw in some Mac hardware, and even some iPad/iPhone titles that really stand out.
